Alex Julca,聽Economic Affairs Officer in the Development Research Branch聽attended the聽聽held in Rome, Italy聽on 12-13 September 2018.聽Organized by the European Centre of Sustainable Development, the conference shed light on the importance of an integrated analysis of sustainable development. The main objective was to identify the challenges and strategies for achieving the Sustainable聽Development聽Goals.

The conference provided an opportunity for a thorough understanding of structural and technological challenges that many countries face, while addressing poverty reduction, quality economic growth, health inequalities, climate risks, water-energy-land linkages, and skills upgrade聽and diversification-related challenges.聽Mr. Julca聽discussed the key findings of the upcoming flagship publication,聽World Economic and Social Survey 2018: Frontier Technologies for Sustainable Development. 聽this context, the discussions on the key findings and recommendations of the Survey聽were very well received.
