To mark  on Friday, 26 June, the Department of Global Communications has released the 2026 edition of The UN Card.

The card succinctly shows how the work of the United Nations and its agencies affects the lives of people around the globe.

The United Nations:

  1. Assists and protects 136 million people fleeing war, famine and persecution
  2. Provides food and assistance to more than 110 million people in over 120 countries and territories
  3. Supplies vaccines to 45% of the world's children, helps save 4 million lives a year
  4. Works with 193 nations to keep the global temperature rise below 1.5°C
  5. Keeps peace with 52,000 peacekeepers in 11 operations around the world
  6. Tackles the global water crisis affecting over 4 billion people worldwide
  7. Protects and promotes human rights globally and through 80 treaties/declarations
  8. Coordinates US$ 23 billion appeal for the humanitarian needs of 87 million people
  9. Uses diplomacy to prevent conflict: assists some 50 countries a year with their elections
  10. Protects over 42 million people with life-saving sexual and reproductive services.

The Department of Global Communications has published The UN Card annually since 2009.

The cards are available in the six official languages:
