Ahead of the 80th General Assembly High-level week, the Secretary-General called on countries to present new bold national climate plans at the Climate Summit 2025. “This is the moment to take drastic decisions in reducing emissions,” he said.

In Myanmar, women from small-scale fishing communities are driving change with eco-stoves that cut reliance on mangrove firewood. The initiative eases pressure on mangroves, safeguards fish habitats, and creates new income streams, showing how small innovations can deliver big wins for both people and the planet.

Georgia is taking action to protect rural livelihoods from extreme weather and reduce emissions in the agricultural sector, engaging youth innovators to drive solutions from sustainable livestock to clean energy.
