Fernando de la Mora is a career diplomat in the Mexican Foreign Service since 2007. He currently serves as Team Leader for Human Rights and Humanitarian Affairs for the Office of the President of the 77th Session of the General Assembly. Most recently, he served as Coordinator for Economic, Social, Human Rights and Humanitarian Affairs at the Permanent Mission of Mexico to the United Nations, overseeing work of the Second and Third Committees of the General Assembly and the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).<\/p>\n
Fernando was part of the co-facilitation team of the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration, adopted in 2018, and has been a delegate to multiple international conferences. He was Vice President of the 39th Conference of States Parties to the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR). In his prior diplomatic experience, Mr. de la Mora Salcedo has also served as Consul in Texas and Arizona, as well as Director for Interinstitutional Coordination at the Instituto Mat\u00edas Romero, Mexico\u2019s Diplomatic Academy.<\/p>\n
He holds a Bachelor\u2019s Degree in International Relations from the University of British Columbia and a Master\u2019s in United States Law from the University of New Mexico. Fernando was Governing Member of the Association of Professionals in Humanitarian Assistance and Protection (PHAP International) and is an Associate of the Mexican Council for Foreign Relations (COMEXI).<\/p>\n
