CTED Executive Director participates in a series of high-level events organized by the Council of Europe
Assistant Secretary-General Natalia Gherman, Executive Director of the United Nations Counter-Terrorism Committee Executive Directorate (CTED), participated in a series of high-level events organized by the Council of Europe in Strasbourg, France, from 26 to 28 May 2026, within the framework of the Presidency of Monaco of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe. The events brought together State representatives, policymakers and international partners to discuss terrorism trends and avenues for strengthening international and regional cooperation to prevent and counter terrorism.

CTED side events for 2026 Counter-Terrorism Week
The Fourth United Nations Counter-Terrorism Week will be held from Friday, 26 June to Thursday, 2 July 2026. The theme is “A Future Free from Terrorism: Consolidating the Global Commitment to Multi-Stakeholder Approaches to Counter Terrorism through Member States’ Leadership and Action,” and will be complemented by a number of side events, which will facilitate discussion of key counter-terrorism priorities under the four pillars of the United Nations Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy.
