United Nations Diplomatic Conference of Plenipotentiaries on Protection of Persons in the Event of Disasters (PPED)
By resolution 80/169 of 15 December 2025, the General Assembly decided to convene the United Nations Conference of Plenipotentiaries on Protection of Persons in the Event of Disasters, to meet in Manila for three weeks from 25 January to 12 February 2027, and, if necessary, for a further two weeks in August 2027. The aim of this diplomatic conference is to elaborate and conclude a legally binding instrument on the protection of persons in the event of disasters, without prejudice to the legal effects of any particular provisions contained therein.

This round of special accreditation will be conducted on the , one of the latest DGC initiatives designed to streamline engagement processes for civil society organizations.
This ad-hoc special accreditation applies at the organizational level, requiring only one application per entity. Individuals may not apply for special accreditation. Projects fiscally sponsored by parent entities may not apply for accreditation. The fiscal sponsor must apply with proof of its legal status. Only entities with their own legal status may apply for special accreditation.

Please Note: Non-governmental Organizations (NGOs) with consultative status with ECOSOC do not need to apply for this ad-hoc special accreditation. A separate registration portal for conference registration will be available closer to the event date.
