In response to Member States’ calls for a more agile, effective, and coherent UN, the Secretary-General’s new report on mandate implementation review examines systemic challenges in how mandates are created, delivered, and reviewed.

On 18 July 2025, the General Assembly adopted by consensus a resolution on the Secretary‑General’s UN80 Initiative to strengthen and streamline the United Nations system.
