Press Release (Excerpts)"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"pr_date\">25 February 2019<\/div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.unog.ch\/unog\/website\/news_media.nsf\/(httpNewsByYear_en)\/868B43776D008F09C12583AC004A76C9?OpenDocument&amp;cntxt=F4495&amp;cookielang=fr\">fran\u00e7ais<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Human Rights Council this morning began its high-level segment, hearing addresses from dignitaries from 14 countries, who spoke about national efforts to promote and protect human rights, the importance of enhanced international cooperation in addressing current challenges, and human rights concerns in a number of countries and regions around the world.<\/p>\n<p>\/&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>SHEIKH MOHAMMED BIN ABDULRAHMAN BIN JASSIM AL THANI,\u00a0<u>Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs of Qatar<\/u>&#8230;drew the Council\u2019s attention to Israel\u2019s ongoing human rights violations against the Palestinian people, which were a blatant violation of international law.<\/p>\n<p>\/&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>MEVL\u00dcT \u00c7AVU\u015eO\u011eLU,\u00a0<u>Minister for Foreign Affairs of Turkey<\/u>,&#8230;reiterated Turkey\u2019s support for the Palestinian people and their right to a fully sovereign State based on the 1967 borders, and highlighted the human rights violations perpetrated in the occupied Palestinian territories by the Israeli State.<\/p>\n<p>\/&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><i>For use of the information media;
