Further report on the status of the cease-fire <\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

in the Middle East<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>The Chief of Staff of UNTSO has submitted the following report on developments in the Israel-Lebanon sector during the period 10 to 16 February 1975:<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

1.\t<\/span>Activity in the sector during the period under review remained at a very low level.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

2.\t<\/span>Israel forces personnel continued to occupy daily, during daylight hours, five positions on the Lebanese side of the armistice demarcation -line (ADL) near border pillars 11 (AMR 1799-2788), 1<\/u>\/ l4 (AMR l838-2734) (except on 10, 11, 13 and l4 February), 18 (AMR 1880-2740) (except on 10 February), 19 (AMR 1907-3749)<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

(except on 10 and 16 February), and 33 (AMR 2004-2904) (except on 10 February).<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

3-  There was one case of firing across the ADL and one crossing violation. OP Rae (AMR 1920-2785), south-east of the village of Maroun Er Ras, reported small-arms fire by Israel forces on l4 February. Naqoura outstation (AMR 1629-2805), on the coast near the village of Naqoura reported that an Israel forces naval vessel penetrated Lebanese territorial waters on 13 February.<\/p><\/div>\n

4.  There were six overflights reported during the period. Overflights by Israel forces jet aircraft were reported on 12 and l6 February (two each day). Overflights by unidentified jet aircraft were reported on lU and 15 February (one each day); United Nations military observers were unable to identify the aircraft owing to hazy weather.<\/p><\/div>\n

5.  The Lebanese authorities submitted 20 complaints during the period under review as follows:<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

(a) Sax complaints were submitted alleging that Israel forces fire had fallen on Lebanese territory.  None of these complaints were confirmed.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

(b)  Six complaints concerned….Israel forces jet, aircraft overflights. Three of these complaints were .confirmed.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

(c)\t<\/span>One complaint was submitted alleging that an Israel forces naval vessel had penetrated Lebanese territorial waters on 12 February. The complaint was not confirmed.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

(d)\t<\/span>Seven complaints were submitted alleging that Israel forces patrols had daily penetrated Lebanese territory in the region of Chebaa (AMR 2200-3055). The complaints were not confirmed; the location of the alleged incidents was outside United Nations observation range.<\/p><\/div>\n
