\t<\/span>On instructions from my Government, and further to our previous letters concerning the repeated Israeli acts of aggression against Lebanese territory, I regret to have to inform you as follows:<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

1.\t<\/span>On Monday, 4 September 1989, at 2.10 a.m., four aircraft of the Israeli air force attacked Majdal Balhis, in Rachaiya district, wounding four persons and destroying a building.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

2.\t<\/span>The same day, at 9.30 a.m., the Israeli occupation forces bombed the town of Nabatiyeh and its environs, as well as the localities of Kfarruman, Habbouche, Arabsalim, Nabatiyehfawka, Zawtar Gharbieh and Zawtar Charkieh and the environs of Zebdine.  The bombing of Nabatiyeh continued until 2.30 p.m., when the streets of the town were thronged with civilians, 15 of whom, including children, were wounded.  Severe losses were sustained in terms of buildings and property.  The bombing resumed during the afternoon.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>This new Israeli act of aggression clearly shows the criminal intentions of the Israeli occupation forces in seeking to kill as many inhabitants as possible by taking as their target a market which is extremely busy on this day of the week.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>The Lebanese Government condemns this new act of aggression and draws the attention of the international community to Israel's scant respect for the resolutions of the international community, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the international convention on the protection of civilian persons in time of war, particularly the Geneva Convention of 1949.<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>I should be grateful if you would have the text of this letter circulated as an official document of the General Assembly, under item 37 of the provisional agenda, and of the Security Council.<\/p><\/div>\n
