Lebanon to the United Nations addressed to the Secretary-General<\/u><\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>On instructions from my Government and further to my letter dated 12 April 1988 (A\/43\/296-S\/19758), I have the honour to inform you that, on 19 April 1988, Israel proceeded to deport eight  more Palestinians to Lebanon in an  unlawful manner across Lebanon's international borders, thereby exploiting its unlawful occupation of a portion of Lebanese territory which it terms the "security zone".<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>The Lebanese Government again registers a vehement protest at this fresh violation by Israel of international agreements relating to human and peoples' rights, especially the fourth Geneva Convention, and of Security Council resolution 607 (1988) and 608 (1988), and categorically condemns such conduct by Israel, which constitutes a blatant and protracted violation of Lebanon's sovereignty and of the integrity of its territory and frontiers.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>The Lebanese Government demands that the necessary measures be taken in order to prevail upon Israel to cease operations of deportation to Lebanon, inasmuch as they are a violation of the Charter of the United Nations, international agreements and laws, and Security Council resolutions.<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>I should be grateful if you would have this letter distributed as an official document of the General Assembly, under item 40 of the preliminary list, and of the Security Council.<\/p><\/div>\n
