          OF QATAR TO THE UNITED NATIONS ADDRESSED TO THE PRESIDENT OF<\/p><\/div>\n

THE SECURITY COUNCIL<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>In my capacity as Chairman of the Arab Group for the month of March 1997 and on behalf of the members of the League of Arab States, I have the honour to request that an immediate meeting of the Security Council be convened to consider the commencement by Israel, the occupying Power, of the construction of a new settlement in the Jabal Abu Ghneim area to the south of occupied East Jerusalem as well as Israeli settlement activities in general in the rest of the occupied territories.<\/p><\/div>\n
