\t\t<\/span>Held in private at Headquarters, New York, on Monday, 8 April 2002, at 12.30 p.m.<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>In accordance with rule 55 of the provisional rules of procedure of the Security Council, the following communiqué was issued through the Secretary-General in place of a verbatim record:\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>“At its 4509th meeting, held in private on 8 April 2002, the Security Council considered the item entitled ‘The situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian Question’.\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>“In accordance with the rules of procedure and the previous practice in this regard, the President, with the consent of the Council, invited the Permanent Observer of Palestine to participate in the discussion.\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>“The members of the Council and the Permanent Observer of Palestine had a constructive discussion.”\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n
