THE HASHEMITE KINGDOM OF THE JORDAN ADDRESSED TO THE SECRETARY-GENERAL<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Large Israeli military armed forces crossing demarcation lines attacked Jordan village of Nahalin (Bethlehem District) four kilometers inside Jordan territory at about midnight on 28th March using military tactics similar to their dastardly attack on Kibia village and other incidents, and firing from mortars and automatic weapons, detonating explosives and throwing hand grenades and incendiary bombs, which action resulted in the killing of nine persons, i.e. five national guards, three legionnaires and one woman and the wounding of eighteen civilians including men, women and children.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\t<\/span>Aggressors were engaged by the national guards and intercepted by the Arab legion.  Prompt action averted the butchery and massacre and blowing up of houses on the heads of their occupants which occurred in Kibia village and which was undoubtedly intended by the Israeli mission of wanton destruction planned militarily by the Israeli forces on instructions from responsible Israeli officials.  This is provided by the official statements and declaration issued by responsible military and civilian Israeli authorities few days ago in meetings and press communiques.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\t<\/span>Jordan’s complaint about this murderous aggressive unwarranted military action was discussed at today’s meeting of the mixed armistice commission.  Resolution adopted declared action taken by Israeli forces constituted most flagrant breach of paragraph 2 article 3 of the General Armistice Agreement.  The mixed armistice commission further condemned Israel in strongest terms for this latest aggression and called on Israeli authorities to take the most effective measures to prevent such and other aggressions against Jordan in the future and to apprehend and punish those responsible.  The mixed armistice commission further deeply deplored the loss of innocent lives incurred as a result of this attack on Nahalin village.  This brutal aggression coming about four months after the Kibia incident is sufficient proof of Israel’s aggressive intentions and constitutes a grave breach of the general Armistice agreement, and a direct challenge to the Security Council’s last decision censuring Israel’s action on Kibia incident and the authority and dignity of the United Nations.  Unless drastic and efficient action is taken immediately by the United Nations and the Security Council, Israel will continue to defy, ignore and flout any and all such decisions.<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>I request your excellency to circulate the text of this telegram to the members of the Security Council and the permanent representatives of the members of the United Nations.<\/p><\/div>\n
