  {"id":185610,"date":"1972-10-05T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2019-03-11T21:56:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.un.org\/unispal\/?p=185610"},"modified":"2019-03-11T21:56:15","modified_gmt":"2019-03-11T21:56:15","slug":"auto-insert-185610","status":"publish","type":"document","link":"https:\/\/www.un.org\/unispal\/document\/auto-insert-185610\/","title":{"rendered":"Mideast situation &#8211; UNTSO supplemental information &#8211; SecGen report"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<div style=\"color:#000000;text-align:center;padding-bottom:5px;font-size:10pt;font-family:Courier New, serif, monospace;\">\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\"><u>Supplemental&nbsp;&nbsp;information<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n<div style=\"color:#000000;text-align:left;padding-bottom:5px;font-size:10pt;font-family:Courier New, serif, monospace;\">\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\"><span class=\"Apple-tab-span\" style=\"white-space:pre; font-size:smaller\">\t<\/span>The&nbsp;&nbsp;Chief of Staff of UNTSO, Major-General Ensio Siilasvuo, has submitted the following report on incidents observed by United Nations military observers and complaints received from the parties on 4 October 1972.<\/p><\/div>\n<div style=\"color:#000000;text-align:left;padding-bottom:5px;font-size:10pt;font-family:Courier New, serif, monospace;\">\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\"><u>Israel-Lebanon sector<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n<div style=\"color:#000000;text-align:left;padding-bottom:5px;font-size:10pt;font-family:Courier New, serif, monospace;\">\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\">1.<span class=\"Apple-tab-span\" style=\"white-space:pre; font-size:smaller\">\t<\/span>OP<u>1<\/u>\/&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;reports:<\/p><\/div>\n<div style=\"color:#000000;text-align:left;padding-bottom:5px;font-size:10pt;font-family:Courier New, serif, monospace;\">\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\">OP Ras:&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Between 0715<u>2<\/u>\/&nbsp;and 1541 Israel forces personnel, vehicle and armoured personnel carrier reoccupied position at point at approximate MR 1709-2749,&nbsp;&nbsp;north of border pillar 19.<\/p><\/div>\n<div style=\"color:#000000;text-align:left;padding-bottom:5px;font-size:10pt;font-family:Courier New, serif, monospace;\">\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\">2.<span class=\"Apple-tab-span\" style=\"white-space:pre; font-size:smaller\">\t<\/span>Complaints by the parties:<\/p><\/div>\n<div style=\"color:#000000;text-align:left;padding-bottom:5px;font-size:10pt;font-family:Courier New, serif, monospace;\">\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\">A complaint has been received from Lebanon alleging that on it October between 0735 and 0755&nbsp;&nbsp;four Israel forces jet aircraft overflew the Lebanese regions of Al Majidiyah (approximate MR 2117-2987), Hasbaiya&nbsp;&nbsp;(approximate MR 2147-3115), Karaoun (28 kilometres north-north-east of OP Khiam), Sour (approximate MR 169-297) and Naqoura (approximate MR l636-2804).<\/p><\/div>\n<div style=\"color:#000000;text-align:left;padding-bottom:5px;font-size:10pt;font-family:Courier New, serif, monospace;\">\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\">The above complaint was not&nbsp;&nbsp;confirmed by United Nations observation. However, OPs Khiam and Naq reported jet sounds between 0730 and 0746 and between 0745 and 0747 respectively.&nbsp;&nbsp;Observation was not possible due to cloud cover.<\/p><\/div>\n<div style=\"color:#000000;text-align:left;padding-bottom:5px;font-size:10pt;font-family:Courier New, serif, monospace;\">\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\"><u>Israel-Syria sector <\/u><\/p><\/div>\n<div style=\"color:#000000;text-align:left;padding-bottom:5px;font-size:10pt;font-family:Courier New, serif, monospace;\">\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\">OP reports:<\/p><\/div>\n<div style=\"color:#000000;text-align:left;padding-bottom:5px;font-size:10pt;font-family:Courier New, serif, monospace;\">\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\">(a)&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;OP Romeo:&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Between 0529 and 0532 machine-gun and small-arms fire by Israel forces.<\/p><\/div>\n<div style=\"color:#000000;text-align:left;padding-bottom:5px;font-size:10pt;font-family:Courier New, serif, monospace;\">\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\">(b)<span class=\"Apple-tab-span\" style=\"white-space:pre; font-size:smaller\">\t<\/span>OP Yoke:&nbsp;&nbsp;At 0548 machine-gun fire, which ceased immediately, Syrian forces.&nbsp;&nbsp;At 0548 small-arms fire, which ceased immediately, and between 0612 and 0615 intense machine-gun fire by Israel forces.<\/p><\/div>\n<div style=\"color:#000000;text-align:left;padding-bottom:5px;font-size:10pt;font-family:Courier New, serif, monospace;\">\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\">(c)<span class=\"Apple-tab-span\" style=\"white-space:pre;
