\t<\/span>The  Chief of Staff of UNTSO, Major-General Ensio Siilasvuo, has submitted the following report on incidents observed by United Nations military observers and complaints received from the parties on 4 October 1972.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

Israel-Lebanon sector<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

1.\t<\/span>OP1<\/u>\/   reports:<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

OP Ras:   Between 07152<\/u>\/ and 1541 Israel forces personnel, vehicle and armoured personnel carrier reoccupied position at point at approximate MR 1709-2749,  north of border pillar 19.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

2.\t<\/span>Complaints by the parties:<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

A complaint has been received from Lebanon alleging that on it October between 0735 and 0755  four Israel forces jet aircraft overflew the Lebanese regions of Al Majidiyah (approximate MR 2117-2987), Hasbaiya  (approximate MR 2147-3115), Karaoun (28 kilometres north-north-east of OP Khiam), Sour (approximate MR 169-297) and Naqoura (approximate MR l636-2804).<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

The above complaint was not  confirmed by United Nations observation. However, OPs Khiam and Naq reported jet sounds between 0730 and 0746 and between 0745 and 0747 respectively.  Observation was not possible due to cloud cover.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

Israel-Syria sector <\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

OP reports:<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

(a)    OP Romeo:   Between 0529 and 0532 machine-gun and small-arms fire by Israel forces.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

(b)\t<\/span>OP Yoke:  At 0548 machine-gun fire, which ceased immediately, Syrian forces.  At 0548 small-arms fire, which ceased immediately, and between 0612 and 0615 intense machine-gun fire by Israel forces.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

(c)\t<\/span>OP X-Ray:  Between 06ll and O6l2 machine-gun fire by Israel forces.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

(d)\t<\/span>OP Winter:  Between 06l6 and 1617 machine-gun fire by Israel forces.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

(e)\t<\/span>OP Five:   Between O6l7 and 0619 machine-gun  fire by  Israel forces.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

(f)\t<\/span>OP One:    Between 1335 and 1345  sporadic  machine-gun  fire by<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

Israel forces.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

(g)\t<\/span>OP November:  Between 1505 and 1522  sporadic machine-gun fire by Israel forces.  At 2012 machine-gun fire, which ceased immediately, by Syrian forces.  Between 2012  and 2025 four flares by Israel forces.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

(h)  OP Four:   Between 2015 and 2022 sporadic machine-gun fire by Israeli forces.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

(i)  OP Uniform:  At 2046 <\/i>machine-gun fire, which ceased immediately, by Israel  forces.<\/p><\/div>\n
