MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC<\/u><\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

    THE HAGUE, 3 February 2004. In view of the great interest aroused by the public hearings in the above-mentioned case, which are to open on Monday 23 February 2004, an admission procedure as described below has been established for members of the public.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

Admission<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

    A certain number of places has been reserved for the general public in a room separate from the Great Hall of Justice, where the hearings will be retransmitted live on two large screens. It is, however, anticipated that there will not be sufficient space for all those wishing to attend.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

   Members of the public who would nonetheless like to follow the hearings in this way are asked kindly to complete the attached form; available in <\/span>PDF format (pdf)<\/u><\/a>, <\/span>Word format (doc)<\/u><\/a> and <\/span>Rich Text format (rtf)<\/u><\/a> which is suitable for most word-processing software. The form must be completed <\/span>in full, in typescript<\/u><\/span>, and returned, <\/span>by facsimile only, not later than Friday 13 February 2004,<\/u><\/span> to the Information Department at the following number: + 31 (0)70 302 23 38.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

   Members of the public are further requested to indicate their preferences as to dates and sittings (morning or afternoon) for the period 23 to 27 February 2004, as well as possible preferences for the period 1 to 5 March 2004.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

   Forms not completed in full, or filled in by hand, or received otherwise than by facsimile or after the closing date, will not be considered.<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

   The Information Department will provide advance confirmation of reservations by such means as it considers most appropriate. It will do its best to take account of stated preferences.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

   The procedure for the issue of admission tickets will be announced later. Tickets cannot be replaced if lost.<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

   In order to avoid long daily queues, members of the public are asked to present themselves at the Peace Palace gates by 9 a.m. for the morning sittings, and by 2 p.m. for the afternoon sittings. Please be sure to bring an ID document. Rigorous checks will be carried out before each sitting.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

   Only individuals with valid identification will be allowed onto the Peace Palace site during the hearings.<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

Parking<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

   No parking will be permitted within the Peace Palace grounds. Vehicles should be left in parking spaces (generally metered) in neighbouring streets.<\/p><\/div>\n
