UN envoy 'seriously concerned' over Israeli violations of Lebanese airspace<\/strong><\/span> <\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

11 October 2004 <\/i><\/span>– <\/i><\/span>Secretary-General Kofi Annan's Personal Representative for Southern Lebanon has expressed "serious concern" over the large number of Israeli air violations that took place across the line of withdrawal today. <\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

"The United Nations calls again on the Israeli authorities to cease these violations of the Blue Line and reminds all concerned that one violation cannot justify another," Staffan de Mistura said in a statement released in Beirut. <\/p><\/div>\n

\n

A dozen incidents were recorded by this afternoon, with reports indicating that that jets flew over areas in the southern and eastern parts of the country. Sonic booms also apparently took place in some locations. There have been no reports of any anti-aircraft fire. <\/p><\/div>\n
