ENVOY TO ASSUME NEW RESPONSIBILITIES REGARDING LEBANON<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\" style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\">\n<li style=\"text-align:left;\"><span style=\"color:#000000;font-size:11pt;font-family:Times New Roman, serif;\">Today, outgoing UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process, Terje Roed-Larsen will leave the region tomorrow to assume new responsibilities as the Secretary&#8217;s Special Envoy for the implementation of Security Council <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/unispal.un.org\/pdfs\/764DC777BFC4307E85256F08005098BF.pdf\" style=\"color:#0000ff;text-align:left;font-size:11pt;font-family:Times New Roman, serif;\">resolution 1559 (2004)<\/a><span style=\"color:#000000;font-size:11pt;font-family:Times New Roman, serif;\">. <\/span><span style=\"color:#000000;font-size:11pt;font-family:Times New Roman, serif;\">&nbsp;He will be based in New York and also serving as the President of the International Peace Academy.<br \/>\n&#160; <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"color:#000000;text-align:left;font-size:11pt;font-family:Times New Roman, serif;\">Asked about Larsen&#8217;s new responsibilities, the Spokesman clarified that it would deal with Lebanon.
