Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, 28 March 2015<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

The Secretary-General met today with H.E. Mr. Mahmoud Abbas, the President of the State of Palestine, on the margins of the Summit of the League of Arab States.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

The Secretary-General and President Abbas exchanged views on how to move the Middle East peace process forward. The Secretary-General reiterated his strong conviction that the two-State solution remains the only solution to end the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

The Secretary-General and President Abbas also discussed the situation in Gaza, including the need to advance intra-Palestinian reconciliation and for donors to fulfil the commitments made at the Cairo Conference last October.<\/p><\/div>\n
