26 May 2012 | Geneva –<\/i> The Sixty-fifth World Health Assembly concluded Saturday after adopting 21 resolutions and three decisions on a broad range of health issues. The six days of discussions involved nearly 3000 delegates, including health ministers and senior health officials from amongst the 194 WHO Member States, as well as representatives from civil society and other stakeholders.<\/p><\/div>\n

The agenda covered some of the biggest challenges and opportunities facing public health today.<\/p><\/div>\n

Occupied Palestinian territory: <\/strong><\/span>The World Health Assembly adopted a <\/span>resolution <\/a>on the health conditions in the occupied Palestinian territory including east Jerusalem, and in the occupied Syrian Golan. The need for full coverage of health services was reaffirmed while recognizing that the acute shortage of financial and medical resources is jeopardizing access of the population to curative and preventive services. <\/span><\/p><\/div>\n
