Quartet Envoys and Quartet Representative Blair met today in Jerusalem with the parties separately.  They reiterated the September 23 statement by Quartet Principals and stressed the important objective of a direct exchange between the parties without delay or preconditions beginning with a preparatory meeting and leading to the presentation of proposals on territory and security.  Envoys reiterated the call for the parties to create a conducive environment for restarting talks and urged the parties to refrain from provocative actions.  Envoys remain engaged and committed to assisting the parties resume direct negotiations to achieve a just, lasting, and comprehensive peace in the Middle East.  <\/p><\/div>\n
