\nto the United Nations to the Chairman of the Conciliation Commission for Palestine<\/p><\/div>\n

Sir,<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

I have the honour to refer to your letter of 14 May 1953 on the subject of the memorandum submitted by representatives of six members of the United Nations relating to Arab property in Israel, and beg to set forth the following observations of the Government of Israel for your consideration.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

The Government of Israel has on repeated occasions affirmed its policy in regard to payment of compensation for abandoned Arab lands in Israel, and is prepared as indicated on those occasions, to discuss the question in practical terms.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

The Government’s declared policy on this question is not affected by any internal arrangements which might be made for dealing with the property according to the laws of Israel.<\/p><\/div>\n
