GENEVA, 7 April (UN Information Service) — The Commission on Human Rights this morning continued its general debate on economic, social and cultural rights, hearing speakers stress the importance of international cooperation for the realisation of these rights to counter the negative effects of globalization.<\/p><\/div>\n

Referring to the visit of the Special Rapporteur on the right to adequate housing to the  occupied Palestinian territories, the speaker said that it portrayed the inhuman and degrading conditions in which the Palestinian people were constrained to as a result of the Israeli colonialization and the devastating policies and practices carried out in blatant breaches of international law and in contradiction with Israel's own duties under the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights.<\/p><\/div>\n
