The Committee and the Division for Palestinian Rights of the UN Secretariat provide the information \u201cas is\u201d without warranty of any kind, and do not accept any responsibility or liability for the accuracy, or reliability of the information contained in the websites linked in the newsletter.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>NGO ACTION NEWS<br \/>\n<\/strong><strong>2 June 2017<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><u>Global<\/u><\/strong><strong><u>\u00a0<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>On 1 June, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oxfam.org\/en\/research\/no-end-sight-50-years-impunity-and-inaction-occupied-palestinian-territory-opt\">Oxfam International<\/a> published a paper entitled \u201cNo end in sight: 50 Years of Impunity and Inaction in the Occupied Palestinian Territory (OPT)\u201d.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><u>Middle East<\/u><\/strong><strong><u>\u00a0<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>On 31 May, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dci-palestine.org\/israeli_forces_shoot_dead_2nd_palestinian_child_in_month\">Defense for Children International \u2013 Palestine<\/a> reported that Israeli security forces had shot and killed a Palestinian child, the second such incident of the month. DCI-Palestine also reported on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dci-palestine.org\/gaza_teen_shot_in_a_month_of_high_palestinian_injuries\">29 May<\/a> that a teen from Gaza was injured after being shot while participating in a demonstration on 23 May.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>On 28 May, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hamoked.org\/Document.aspx?dID=Updates1875\">Hamoked<\/a> published its correspondence with the Israeli Ministry of Justice on the issue of requests by victims\u2019 families to watch the punitive demolition or sealing of Palestinian family homes on 28 May. On <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hamoked.org\/Document.aspx?dID=Updates1876\">29 May<\/a>, it also released an update on its ongoing efforts to have the state of Israel recognize the relationship between a woman and her son, who is currently imprisoned in an Israeli jail.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Following the death of a Palestinian man who was denied access to medical treatment, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mezan.org\/en\/post\/21934\/Patient+Dies+After+Being+Denied+Access+to+Hospital+by+Israeli+Authorities\">Al Mezan Center for Human Rights<\/a> issued a press release on 30 May calling on the international community to take steps that would lead to put an end to the continued closure and blockade imposed on the Gaza Strip.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>On 30 May, the <a href=\"http:\/\/pchrgaza.org\/en\/?p=9155\">Palestinian Centre for Human Rights<\/a> published a press release condemning the Gaza Ministry of Interior for banning Dr. Zakariya al-Agha, a PLO official, from travelling to the West Bank. PCHR also released a short video on <a href=\"http:\/\/pchrgaza.org\/en\/?p=9158\">1 June<\/a> entitled \u201cInhumane Blackmailing of a Child from the Gaza Strip\u201d.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>On May 31, the <a href=\"https:\/\/icahduk.org\/2017\/05\/31\/demolition-and-displacement-summary-may-2017\/\">Israeli Committee Against House Demolitions<\/a> released a \u201cDemolition and Displacement Summary\u201d for May 2017.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gcmhp.com\/en\/news.aspx?id=1623\">Gaza Community Mental Health Programme<\/a> completed a series of workshops on psychodrama for children on 31 May.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.btselem.org\/press_releases\/20170601_resolute_international_action_needed\">B\u2019Tselem<\/a> issued a press release on 1 June announcing that its Executive Director, Hagai El-Ad, would discuss ending the occupation in meetings with top European officials on 1 and 2 June.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>On 2 June, <a href=\"http:\/\/peacenow.org.il\/en\/2500-housing-units-settlements-advanced-next-week\">Peace Now<\/a> announced that 2,500 settlement housing units will be advanced in meetings of the High Planning Committee of the Civil Administration held on 6 and 7 June.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><u>Europe<\/u><\/strong><strong><u>\u00a0<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.prc.org.uk\/portal\/index.php\/activities-news\/prc-un-ecosoc-status\/279-general\/3694-prc-addresses-british-foreign-secretary-over-gaza-siege,-palestinian-prisoners\">The Palestinian Return Centre<\/a> delivered a memorandum to UK Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson on 27 May urging the British government to take action to address the blockade of the Gaza Strip.<strong><u>\u00a0<\/u><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>On 26 May, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.map.org.uk\/news\/archive\/post\/665-protecting-the-lives-of-patients-with-kidney-failure-in-gaza\">Medical Aid for Palestinians<\/a> released a statement about its efforts to provide essential treatment or patients with kidney failure (\u201cProtecting the Lives of Patients with Kidney Failure in Gaza\u201d).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; This newsletter informs about recent and upcoming activities of Civil Society Organizations affiliated with the United Nations Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People.
