We need Gaza\u2019s last remaining hospitals, shelters, markets and water systems to stay functional. Without them, hunger and disease will skyrocket, taking more child lives.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI appeal to all parties to the conflict to adhere to their obligations under international humanitarian law. That includes taking the utmost care to spare civilians and civilian infrastructure, to meet civilians\u2019 essential needs and facilitate rapid, safe, and unimpeded humanitarian access. Military operations in densely populated residential areas can have indiscriminate effects.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe need an immediate humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza, and the safe and immediate release of all hostages \u2013 especially children \u2013 who have suffered so much.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA humanitarian ceasefire will save lives.
