From Tor Wennesland, United Nations Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process, as posted on his official X account (previously known as Twitter)<\/em><\/p>\n In Gaza today, I saw firsthand again the continued immense destruction & profound suffering of the people. Met with UN staff & Palestinian NGOs. Their tireless efforts are admirable. Heard directly from them about the alarming security & humanitarian situation across the Strip, especially in Northern Gaza.<\/p>\n The challenges faced by the people of Gaza, including serious violations of IHL, are enormous, with urgent needs for food, medical supplies, and protection. A significant increase in the entry of humanitarian assistance and an improvement in security is urgently required.<\/p>\n I reiterate the SG\u2019s repeated call for an immediate ceasefire & the unconditional release of all hostages held by Hamas. I call on all relevant parties to urgently pursue these goals. Gaza is an integral part of Palestine.
