From Philippe Lazzarini, the UNRWA Commissioner-General as posted on his official X account (previously known as Twitter)<\/em><\/p>\n Nearly 42,000 people in Gaza have life-changing injuries because of the war, according to WHO. One in four is a child.<\/p>\n Gaza now hosts the largest group of child amputees in modern history.<\/p>\n With the collapse of the medical system during the war, those with serious injuries struggle to get the treatment and rehabilitation they need to rebuild their lives.<\/p>\n UNWRA teams together with WHO and partners are sparing no efforts to make sure they are not left behind.<\/p>\n Since the war began, they have provided essential psychosocial support to more than 30,000 persons with disabilities, with over 8,000 of them receiving assistive devices and rehabilitation services.<\/p>\n Every day, across the region, UNRWA works to make a difference.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" 5 December 2025 From Philippe Lazzarini, the UNRWA Commissioner-General as posted on his official X account (previously known as Twitter) Nearly 42,000 people in Gaza have life-changing injuries because of the war, according to WHO.
