Description/outline
Project main components include to conduct overview of continental and regional capacities for child-sensitive early warning; develop an early warning toolset to be integrated into relevant African early warning systems; produce manuals and training modules on child-sensitive early warning and conflict analysis; organize virtual academies for early warning practitioners, analysts, and field monitors; and facilitate a regional conference with the Economic Community of Central African States to strengthen child and armed conflict prevention approaches and develop a regional strategy across its 11 Member States

Synopsis

Objectives

The project aims to foster close collaboration with and strengthen capacities of regional partners in Africa on the protection of conflict-affected children, with a focus on early warning, prevention and preventive diplomacy.

Components

Project main components include conducting overview of continental and regional capacities for child-sensitive early warning; development of an an early warning toolset to be integrated into relevant African early warning systems; produce manuals and training modules on child-sensitive early warning and conflict analysis; organization of virtual academies for early warning practitioners, analysts, and field monitors; and facilitation of a regional conference with the Economic Community of Central African States to strengthen child and armed conflict prevention approaches and develop a regional strategy across its 11 Member States.
