Registration for Term 2 of the 2026 Language and Communications courses opens on Wednesday, 4 March 2026. Whether you are looking to strengthen your professional communication, build confidence in another UN language, or explore a new skill, this term offers fresh opportunities to support your learning journey.

Courses will run from 4 May to 10 July and are offered by the Language and Communications Training Unit (LCTU) within the Capacity Development and Operational Training Service, Office of Support Operations, Department of Operational Support. Open to , the courses cover a broad range of topics, proficiency levels and formats, including online, in-person, and hybrid options designed to accommodate different schedules and learning preferences. While ongoing budget constraints may limit some offerings, this term introduces a refreshed portfolio of learning opportunities.

Highlights include new self-paced options such as Arabic interview preparation, an introduction to the Chinese writing system, authentic French listening practice through UN stories and professional workplace communication in Spanish. With a streamlined registration process now in place, and complimentary access for spouses available for a limited time, this is an ideal moment to begin or continue your language learning.

Spring also marks the celebration of four Language Days: Chinese on 20 April, English and Spanish on 23 April, and Russian on 6 June. LCTU will host special live and online events to celebrate multilingualism and encourage engagement with language and culture across the Organization.

Registration for regular courses will close on 16 April 2026. For specialized courses, registration remains open until one week before the start of each training session. Self-study courses are available for enrolment at any time.
