Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs) face considerable infrastructure gaps across transport, energy and ICT sectors, leading to higher costs for trade and investment. The Awaza Programme of Action for the LLDCs (APoA) requests the Secretary General of the United Nations to report to the General Assembly on the feasibility of building on existing resources to establish an Infrastructure Investment Financing Facility (IIFF) for LLDCs. This session builds on the Ministerial Meeting of LLDCs at the Fourth Financing for Development Forum to consider what partnerships could bring together ideas, financing and action to deliver the scale of finance needed for infrastructure investments in LLDCs.
