Expert Group Meeting on the Feasibility Study for the Regional Agricultural Research Hub (RARH)
Background
Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs) face significant structural challenges that constrain agricultural productivity, resilience, and market access. Strengthening agricultural research and innovation systems is critical to addressing these challenges and supporting sustainable development.
In line with the Awaza Programme of Action for LLDCs (2024–2034), OHRLLS is exploring the establishment of a Regional Agricultural Research Hub (RARH) to enhance regional collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and innovation.
About the Event
This Expert Group Meeting (EGM) is convened as part of the ongoing feasibility study on the RARH. It will bring together a select group of experts and partner agencies to review preliminary findings and provide technical inputs on the proposed institutional and governance arrangements.
The meeting represents a first inter-agency consultation, focusing on technical perspectives from UN system entities and partners.
Objectives
- Validate preliminary findings of the feasibility study
- Gather technical inputs on institutional models and governance arrangements
- Identify opportunities for collaboration and partnerships
- Inform the refinement of the RARH concept
