Monitoring and evaluation
The Evaluation, Analysis and Monitoring Service coordinates global oversight and operational analysis for the Department for General Assembly and Conference Management in support of integrated global management. The Service ensures that operations comply with intergovernmental mandates while identifying opportunities to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
By integrating programme planning, audit support, and internal controls, the Service provides the data-driven insights necessary for informed policy decisions. This is achieved through global monitoring and evaluation, risk management, and the continuous tracking of key performance indicators. Regular performance reviews across all four duty stations cover documentation, translation, meetings, interpretation, and publishing.
Managing the financial implications of legislative decisions is another primary responsibility. The Service provides the technical analysis required for budget and resource planning by determining how new mandates impact existing resources. It also calculates the projected costs of conference services to ensure that governing bodies have accurate financial data for their planning needs.
Finally, the Service manages engagement with independent oversight bodies and various intergovernmental committees. This coordination ensures that audit recommendations are implemented and that reporting on the management of United Nations conference and meeting services remains transparent and accurate.
