Summary Terms of Reference for the Evaluation of the United Nations Food Systems Coordination Hub
- 29 January 2026
The United Nations (UN) Food Systems Coordination Hub (“the Hub”) was established following the 2021 UN Food Systems Summit as part of the UN Secretary-General’s commitment to accelerate food systems transformation. The UNSDG System-Wide Evaluation Office (SWEO) is conducting an overarching strategic evaluation on the UN development system’s support to key transitions for SDG acceleration, in response to the request of UNSDG Principals, between 2025 and 2027. The evaluation of the Food Systems Coordination Hub is situated as one of several “modules” within this broader evaluation.
The evaluation has a dual purpose of accountability and learning, with a particular focus on learning lessons from the Hub’s work within the complex and evolving context of food systems in which it functions.
The Terms of Reference captures the background, objectives, scope, evaluation criteria, team and timeline of the Evaluation of the United Nations Food Systems Coordination Hub.
